syntax error on first line of demo code about php-pdo-wrapper-class

I wouldn't trust dreamweaver for PHP (or for anything actually since AFAIK the 
garbage it outputs would burn any web developer's eyes).

Use Zend Studio or Eclipse with the Web Dev plugin. I use the latter and the 
syntax checked does not show any error there. Also no error reported when using 
it.

You can only declare function to be public inside of a class in PHP. The 
example code is just reiterating the function declaration from the code as part 
of the documentation. You can ignore that part of the example when using the 
code.
