I have a very dirty solution to the stretch issue. Download cheat engine, and memory hack any of the resolutions game present into the exact resolution you desire to run the game at. It's most basic cheat engine usage and in this case it's rather straightforward and could likely be googled, but if someone is trying it and is stuck, tell me and I can write out more detailed instructions.
This is the game running at 2560 x 720, no stretching as you can see:
