That suggests that your anyOf method is returning String. What's the fully-qualified name of the method you're statically importing as anyOf?

@kmart216 I just tried your example from the issue description with JDK 1.8.0_25 64 bit for Linux: it compiles on my machine and the test passes. Maybe this is an issue that was only present in older versions of JDK 8? Could you give the exact Java version and the operating system with whom you have the compilation issues?

This method signature is present in an old version of Hamcrest and has been fixed.

• java-hamcrest-2.0.0.jar
• hamcrest-library-1.3.jar
• hamcrest-core-1.3.jar
  What needs to change to fix the TopologyTest.java?
