on Arch Linux it's pretty easy to have different versions of python installed at the same time. you'd just install the version you want from aur
python36 3.6.14-3
python37 3.7.11-2
python38 3.8.11-3

it's easy to upgrade to python3.8 without facetracking. I removed facetracking and upgraded to python3.8 in a separate branch called python38 https://github.com/hamidzr/webcam-mods/tree/python38
I'll keep the branch separate until facetracking using mediapipe is added
