On point 1: Completely agree with this, and this is something we’re aware of. Your suggestion in point #2 has been on our road map and is the strategy we plan on using to mitigate this soon.
On point 2 and 3: Great suggestion. We plan on keeping this the default, but we can add a toggle for disable_mlock through the helm chart.
Additionally, we can allow the toggling to the SKIP_SETCAP environment variable just in case that's needed as well.
I added #37 to track this feature request specifically.
