Generated tarfile exceeds OS limits about hackage-server

This is only true on ext2 I think. I don't propose we change anything to accomodate this, just that we get our server to use ext4.

I find this hard to believe actually. Our blobs directory in the backup contains about 100k hard links. So I'm not sure I get what is going on with the tarball.

I believe it's the number of subdirectories in core/packages/ actually. Anyway, just untar the backup and you can see for yourself -- seeing is believing :)

Ok ok. Anyway I think the solution is that the infrastructure folks will be upgrading use to ext4, so we just have to wait. Not a big problem in the meantime since one can copy and upack the tarfiles on any other machine.

Our server now has a 100 GB ext4 filesystem for the server + backups so I think we can just ignore this issue.
