I was able to use a Mac running Ventura 13.2 using the following procedure. First I downloaded RKDevelopToolGUI from GitHub https://github.com/Jerzha/RKDevelopToolGUI. I downloaded it into my downloads directory and after putting the helm into the maskrom mode (confirmed by the GUI app detecting it). I then using the command line cd into the RKDeveloptoolGUI.app directory, then cd into the contents directory, then cd into the resources directory and found a functioning rkdeveloptool. Basically, you could do a cd to ~/downloads/RKDevelopToolGUI.app/Contents/Resources . I ran the commands listed in the instructions here to flash the image and it worked. If this is not clear, please feel free to contact me and hopefully I can help.

We tested using Mac OS X 13.0 and weren't able to get it to work. However, we have seen other projects using rk3399 SoCs with instructions for using rkdeveloptool on Mac. Below is an example. You could give it a shot. Please post back with your experience.

Might want try Virtualbox plus Linux and see if you can pass the USB device through with a vid/pid filter.

Thanks @ppporch I followed your instructions and I can confirm I have the helm in maskrom mode and I can cd into ~/downloads/RKDevelopToolGUI.app/Contents/Resources and I can do ls and I see the rkdeveloptool file.

The instructions provide download link for helm-loader-build-38.bin. Where do you save this file on the Mac?

Thanks.
