A flakeModules.nixos would also be helpful; have one in the works, but still needs a solution for multiple nixpkgs versions.

We could use inputs.nixpkgs.lib when talking about NixOS, and have a page that explains the difference.
Adding nixosSystem to the lib argument would extend the learning curve as you eventually need multiple versions of Nixpkgs in your project. Better to be clear about the origin up front; explicit is good.
