sasl plugin is included with the installer and tor works fine as is.
as for something as silly as a random name you can write a script.

The lag inherent in anonymous networks often causes the nickserv identification to fail.

Shouldn't sasl identify you thus nickserv identifying is useless?
Also if your really need your friends list encrypted you can manually do this yourself, same goes for turning off logging etc.

I only use SASL on Freenode. I'm referring to other networks, such as
I2P. I appreciate your works, btw. I've been searching for a good
maintained irc client. A private mode seems the standard for clients
these days.
