Concerning child rows, @mcmastermind : what's your specific need here?

1. The option to show values from hidden columns (hidden by dev, not user) in a row based layout below parent row?
2. The option to show any additional metadata, that is not part of the actual table data?
3. Both of the above?

Instead of child row, could it be valuable to trigger this as an modal overlay instead? As an option in addition to child row?

@stitot, my current specific need is option 2 (additional data not part of the data table), but ultimately, both would be ideal for what I intend for my application.

I am not opposed to the modal trigger as it would solve my immediate need and I can see value in that feature for others.

Thanks, @mcmastermind ! In your case, is additional metadata part of the data source (but not rendered as visible columns) or an additional source that you would e.g. fetch() on click?

In my case, I already have the data. I just need a way to render it.
