I do think that would be a nice feature but, in the general case, the ordering of operations is not as simple as the path which is why it hasn't already been done. Take for example

GET +? param("foo") & param[Int]("bar") |>>
GET +? param("foo") & param[String]("bar") |>>

where now we have to decide if we would consider Int more specific than String, and attempt the Int first in all cases, etc. I think this has the potential to be very powerful, but also be a problem that gets out of hand.
The more limited case you point out seems manageable, but I would prefer it go into a branch first so we can test it out.

I'm content not to try and modify the current "first come, first serve" behavior as it would seem close to impossible to satisfy all cases otherwise. I'm going to close this.
