In package.json change your dependencies to this for now:

"dependencies": {
  "hubot": "1.1.4",
  "hubot-scripts": "1.1.2",
  "optparse": "1.0.1"
}

If I set hubot to anything greater than 1.1.0 he stops responding to any commands. I noticed in my heroku logs the following:

bin/hubot: 3: npm: not found
Cannot use StringPrep bindings. You may need to `npm install node-stringprep'
