What you're seeing here is not an issue, but rather inxi showing you that your
assumption is wrong.

startx does not in fact equal init 5, it simply starts x in whatever runlevel
you
are currently in.

So as is becoming increasingly common, using inxi can be educational, it can
show
bugs or errors in your system. And now and then of course it has real bugs.

I'll close this issue since it's actually a complement to inxi.

Any time you want to see your runlevel, do: runlevel
the output will be one or two numbers, say, if you are in runlevel 3: N 3
the second is your real runlevel if I remember right.

So doing: init 5, and then running inxi, and having it show, after you are in
init
5, runlevel 3, that's a bug, but being in init 3, and having it show runlevel
3,
that's the desired output.

But thanks for taking the time to fill out an issue anyway.
