Hmm.. I can't seem to find a way to make it pull things from my github repo as Melpa does. I would be more than happy if somebody (you @bitemyapp ?) would like to create and upload a tar to marmelade every once in a while.

I could add an elpakit build and maintain a marmalade dist (I am the maintainer of marmalade). I am starting to use scala quite a bit for work so I'd be happy to do that.
I'll push a branch I guess. Comments?

Yes, fork, make the required changes and then make a pull request. Modify also README to add your self as a contributor.
BTW: I'm just finalizing my sbt-mode (I'll be making the initial version push to https://github.com/hvesalai/sbt-mode shortly). Check it out and maybe it also needs similar contribution.

please remove reference to marmalade from documentation because is not carrying this mode.

@nicferrier have you thought about the process of how projects like scala-mode2 could be automatically submitted to marmelade without the develope (me in this case) having to do something manually?

Yes. I've got some code that kinda works. I've got a problem with base64 parts right now which means it won't work for everything. Is scala-mode a single file package?

Ha. I come and look at this everytime I need scala. Which is rarely. I'll handle uploading to marmalade.
