Hi Ander,
This issue is usually seen if you have not specified the right port number/hostname in the connection string. Could you pls ensure that the above parameters are correct and retry. You might want to ensure that db2 is up and running and listening to the same port as mentioned in the connection string.
I will work on this and get the issue fixed so that it gives out a proper error instead of issuing a stack smashing error.

Hi Praveen,
after checking the connection string I've realized that I was using SERVER instead of HOSTNAME.

I'd like to reopen this. It doesn't matter how bad a connection string I supply, ibm_db should never crash in this way. This causes my entire Node.js application to halt.

We have this issue fixed in our latest version, can you please use the current node-ibm_db version(0.0.6) and try again ?
