For audio/video and subtitle rendering support IINA uses a library from the mpv project. It is mpv
that adds the subtitles to a video frame.
When it comes to changing how the subtitles are rendered IINA can only alter that using the options exposed by mpv
. Those options are listed in the Subtitles section of the mpv
manual.
At this time mpv
does not provide an option to specify the position of the secondary subtitle like it does for the primary subtitle. The ability to change the position of the secondary subtitle is an often requested feature.
But there is some good news. Just recently mpv
has added options for controlling the secondary subtitle. These enhancements are new enough that they are not available in the latest released version of mpv
. Once mpv
releases a version with these enhancements, IINA can upgrade the version of the mpv
library it is using and add support for the new controls.
