Correct, suppress_export is not supported at the moment.
(Since suppress_export does not carry its original meaning in the rails setting, one may question it's usefulness.)
It can be trivially implemented, if it's a priority for you.

It would be super helpful. Our workaround at the moment is not releasing those objects, but that is inconsistent with the rest of the system and could very easily be overridden by accident.
So it would be my humble request: Please go ahead and implement suppress_export :-)
