If you notice in your stack trace, it lists out the ChecksumFileSystem class instead of the DistributedFileSystem. That means HiBench datagen did not find your HDFS, and falls back to a local file system write.

Yes, the ChecksumFileSystem did show up in the stack trace. But HDFS is running correctly on my machine.
What should I do to make HiBench find my HDFS?
I am running CDH 4.4. Thank you for your help.

@Xuchun @jintaoguan One of our colleagues came into a same problem, and after setting HADOOP_HOME in environment, this workload worked fine then. Would you please have a try, and check if that could fix your problem?
