Hi,
I don't work for Ionic anymore, so you don't need to tag me. However, I will note that this behavior is intentional. Without it, the modal backdrop would get progressively darker as more modals stacked on top of each other. This is most noticeable on tablet viewports with modals that are the same size.

Yes, the background gets darker with each stacked modal. However, this is only a problem if you have a lot of modals stacked, which is very rare in real apps. I would rather show the last backdrop, not the first one, otherwise it causes the problem shown in my first post. This cannot be intentional if modals can no longer be recognized.

There might be a way to make this behavior a prop or something that devs can toggle. You could check with the team and see if this is a feature they'd be willing to consider. If they are open to it, I think this could be a great community contribution if you're interested!
