Is there really no follow up from the Ionic team on this issue? I have an ionic app that we spun up using the SharedPreferences API on Android for a POC. Once we hit performance issues I pulled in ionic-storage and benchmarked a 5-6x DECREASE in read and write speed. Not to mention every single input field in my application became slow and would frequently freeze. Flipping off the ionic-storage implementation and using the SharedPreferences api again fixed the performance issues albeit for a very small dataset, which is even more alarming.
@gabides Did you ever figure out if there was a configuration option for not blocking the main UI thread?
I'd be happy to create a minimum reproducible example repo if requested by a member of the ionic team, but this repo does not seem to have any active development going on.
