ERR_PACKAGE_PATH_NOT_EXPORTED when upgrading from v7 to v8 about js-dag-cbor

version 8 now exports only an ESM package, so we're not supporting class CJS anymore. Something in your path, perhaps the app you're writing, or perhaps a typescript compile setting, is loading this as a CJS module (as you can see by the stacktrace). The trace is a bit strange because it should be much more concise and tell you that require isn't supported, so there must be something in this stack that call chain that's doing something novel, nodemon, typescript, or even @cspotcode/source-map-support which is intercepting in here.

Apologies for the delayed response, I have just come back to reinvestigate this issue again.

Thank you for your reply and pointing me in the right direction, you were correct - the package.json of my project did not have the type property set to module, loading the dependency now works as expected.
