I found the answer! "blur" event is not invoked, because top window does not have a focus :)
The fix is to add target.focus(); call:

    var target = window;
    while (target != target.parent) {
        target = target.parent;
    }

    target.focus();
    var handler = _registerEvent(target, "blur", onBlur);

Hi, @he0xff. I have the same problem. Did you manage to resolve it?

when used in a n iframe the error appear; why still cross-origin blocked? target.addEventListener seem lead to error? I use chrome 95.
