Just a typo

Hi Jacob, very helpful book.

My value add is to say that, in the last line of the first para in section 2.1.3.1, "examine" should be "example".

I'd fix it myself, but I'm not sure how to.

cheers, Tom

validating a reference + possible suggestion

Hi Jacob - I'm seeing a reference in the literature to your book that "More recent comparisons of UCR-SHR to NVDRS, however, suggest that UCR-SHR underestimates homicides compared to NVDRS (Kaplan, 2021b)."

I've searched through it a few times to find this citation and I am not seeing it. Am I mistaken? Would like to cite the book.

Loftin et al. 2008 make this point for SHR vs. Vital stats. Maybe it is beyond the scope of the book, but a "why use nvdrs" citation might be a nice addition during the NIBRS transition, I'm not seeing one readily available.

HELP WITH CITY LEVEL DATA

I downloaded the entire database at the annual level and wanted to know if you have a strategy to summarize the data at the city level and not only at the agency level.
Thank you.

Broken link to your UCR data

The following line includes a broken link:

"Finally, I have my own collection of UCR data available publicly on openICPSR, a site which allows people to submit their data for public access."

In addition, I cannot locate the data files on openicpsr, so maybe they were taken down?

Link to openICPSR data (Section 1.4) broken

Hello,

Thanks so much for writing this book! It's a great resource. I was hoping to access the cleaned UCR data you made for 1960 - 2020, but the link to the openICPSR repo does not show any results (picture attached below) and I cannot seem to find the data on your website either. Is this still available for download? Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks so much!
