Some additional suggestions:

  1. The orange color, #CF5C3F;, that is used in the header and footer text and for the tracking ID on the Dashboard page is hard to read against both a dark and a white background and fails accessibility tests against both. However, I don't think it will be possible to find a single color that you can use against both a dark gray and a white background. You need a pale color against the dark and a dark color against the white.

  2. The tracking and admin areas should have links back to the index.xhtml home page. Currently, if you are in the tracking area, the only way to get to the admin area is to manually enter the main page URL in the browser and then navigate to it.

We definitely need some real help in the look and feel area . Please do feel free to take a crack at it...

The reason for the lack of links back to /index.xhtml is that it is intended to be more for documentation than part of the actual flow of the application. "Real" users are intended to log on directly to either the public tracking or (secured) admin/booking URL.

Now, the one problem with this is that we do reference the tracking page from admin right now, for which I haven't thought of an elegant solution yet. Perhaps the answer is to have a separate tracking page geared for admins apart from the public tracking site (Vijay was going down this route, I reverted those changes temporarily).

BTW, do feel free to subscribe and discuss issues on the user aliases: https://java.net/projects/cargotracker/lists. You should have the correct privileges now.

Recent checkins have done a great job resolving the color contrast issues. The only remaining one is the dark-against-dark text of "Oracle Corporation" in the footer.
