This just got a step closer to working, now that JS.Class supports Node: see http://is.gd/cDzd9. I'll check Canopy over soon to make sure it can work the JS.Packages loading system.

I've just pushed a bunch of work that make it easier to use under CommonJS. I've also expanded the test environment and made sure it works under Node and in web browsers. It still needs JS.Class, so you need to load that first, but you should be able to import your generated parser like so:

JSCLASS_PATH = './vendor/js.class/build/min/';
require(JSCLASS_PATH + 'loader');
JS.require('JS.Class');

var parser = require('./source/canopy/meta_grammar'),
    sys    = require('sys');

var compiler = new parser.Canopy.MetaGrammarParser('\
                 grammar Demo                       \
                   hello <- "world"');

Hope that helps, and let me know how you get on.
