Perhaps, it is best to close this issue.
Tested dsvpn v0.1.3 with an archlinux virtual machine under the same libvirt daemon (with same networking settings/iptables etc) and works as advertised.
I really do not understand this specific problem/issue with ubuntu 18.04 virtual machine, but as long as it works with another virtual machine, I don't feel we need to have this issue open.
