Could you provide s specific example of a package with a changelog that has this white text? I checked the changelog for every package that I have installed and couldn't repo.

As for plugins like atomatigit, I have a fix I'll push later today that I hope should fix the white text issue. Unfortunately, there's no way I can see to universally style this side panel. Atomatigit use a class of "atomatigit" to style this panel, so styles would have to be written in a plugin specific way, which is of course not sustainable. The ideal solution would be for Atom to add a global class that plugins can use for for these sort of panels.

Hoverer, for the time being, I'm updating the style for the ".file-list-view.list-view .filename" class to make this text black instead of white, which I hope should address the issue you're seeing. I'm hoping this only applies to this section, and doesn't create an opposite problem of creating black on black text in other views. Will keep an eye on it going forward to see if any problems crop up due to this change.

Pushed a fix for this & included in the last update. It's not a perfect solution, but hopefully it's a useable workaround until I can find something better.

This addresses the sidebar issue with plugins like atomatigit, not sure if it fixes the issue with changelogs, haven't been able to repro that yet.
