**Explain the problem.** Two citations separated by a space collapse into one citation cluster, so citeproc renders them under one pair of parentheses. The same two citations separated by a source newline, which is how wrapped prose naturally spells them, come through as two separate clusters and render as two parenthesized groups. **Reproduce** (stock pandoc): ```sh cd $(mktemp -d) cat > t.typ <<'EOF' One cluster: @a @b. Split by a newline: @c @d. EOF pandoc t.typ -t native | grep -c Cite ``` **Received:** `3` (the `@a @b` pair collapses; the `@c` + newline + `@d` pair stays separate). **Expected:** `2`. A newline inside a Typst paragraph is just whitespace; `@c\n@d` means the same thing to the layout engine as `@c @d`. **Root cause:** `collapseAdjacentCites` (`src/Text/Pandoc/Readers/Typst.hs`) folds `Cite, Space, Cite` into one `Cite` but has no case for `Cite, SoftBreak, Cite`, and the Typst reader represents an intra-paragraph newline as `SoftBreak`. The collapse therefore depends on where the author's line breaks happen to fall. **Fix:** add the `SoftBreak` clause, treating it exactly like `Space` (two-line change, easily covered by command tests). > [!NOTE] > > This is 7/13 of issues identified in an attempt to create an APA styled Word target from a Typst source. The issues are ordered logically so that fundamental fixes are applied first. I have fixed all of them locally and will split and upstream the fixes one by one.
