Update, happens only if the model is called indirectly, e.g.:
whisper.transcribe(model = model, audio = "test.mp4")
model.transcribe works fine.

The issue is using a modified model with the unmodified function.whisper.transcribe is the original function. Its modified counterpart is stable_whisper.transcribe_word_level
To use the modified function directly with the modified model:

import whisper
from stable_whisper import modify_model, transcribe_word_level
model = whisper.load_model('base')
modify_model(model)
transcribe_word_level(model = model, audio = "test.mp4")

This error should be fixed in dcf3c55, but modified model will remain incompatible with unmodified functions for other reasons (i.e. there will other errors).
