Oh, this works differently than jsonUnserialize, I see. Here's what works:
$point = new \GeoJson\Geometry\Point(array(1, 1));
$serialized = $point->jsonSerialize();
$json = json_encode($serialized);
print_r($json);
from geojson.
this works differently than jsonUnserialize
Indeed. JsonSerializable is a core language interface in PHP 5.4, so json_encode()
knows to invoke jsonSerialize()
if the object argument implements the interface. The stub class I provide in the library for PHP 5.3 is just so that the core classes have the interface available, but the json_encode()
magic won't happen on its own.
The JsonUnserializable interface is just something I created for this library; PHP has no notion of it. Therefore, jsonUnserialize()
is nothing more than a static factory method to which we can pass json_decode()
. Also note that the examples invoke the factory method on the abstract, base GeoJson class because we don't yet know what type of feature or geometry object the JSON data contains.
