The themes from the editor are from the Ace Editor project. The themes for the live preview is boostrap.
Feel free to fork the code and add a prettier design. You are empowered and fully capable of doing this. Too much work? Modify the CSS in webkit inspector or Firebug and paste the CSS here and I'll add it.

Replacing the blue striped background with a solid color (white) would be a good start =)
I'll try to build a theme selector in my semester break!

You can turn that off in the Utilities -> Preferences. Refresh the page and it will remember it as well.
