Hi @kaiyou I think this was already working after merging your PR but I am not sure anymore and don't find the time currently to look into it. I might have broken it with some of my latest commits. If by any chance you have some minutes to look into it, that would be greatly appreciated. If not, don't worry, after all it's just a convenience feature and nothing critical.

After merging PR #6, which introduced this feature, it was poorly working only: Config file default was never read. No sanity checking on cli, any letters could be given as the format value (then always fall back to "human). Later implemented sanity checking on cli broke the abbreviation feature completely.
This is now fixed and improved.
