My understanding is (I've solved the same problem just now) that --project assumes that all source images are stored in subdirectories, having some images in the 'root' directory (in your case images/sprites/src/) causes this "Unknown Error". Is that the case for you? If it is, this looks like a bug; it should either:

  • ignore these files
  • create a sprite for these files (and assume some default name?)
  • print a more helpful error message

Did you fix this?

I'm having a similar issue.

I just upgraded to 0.2.9 from 0.2.6.1. After upgrading, conf files seem to crash no matter what, giving me "Error: Unknown error." I tried stripping them down to nothing, but it seems like their very existence makes it crash.

Moving everything into the command line fixes it, but obviously makes it more tedious. Any ideas on what's causing that?

@jorgebastida
Cleaning up the project directory was my workaround but I wouldn't mind writing a fix (if we agree what is the desired behaviour in such situation)

I think the previous commit should fix your issues with --project. It seems that after --recursive I mess up how ProjectSpriteManager discover sprites.

I'm going to release this changes as 0.2.9.1

Thank you very much for your feedback!
