Hey. I hope you're really doing fine. I'm sure null ls will be a good legacy and there will be other solutions down the road. Thanks for all your effort, open source is known yo be complicated and time consuming
I've got curiosity, what is your main editor now?
from null-ls.nvim.
This plugin was easily my favorite in the Neovim ecosystem. I hope this project gets forked and extended so this work lives on. Thank you for everything!

Thank you for all your work over the years!

Hello @jose-elias-alvarez i was wondering if there's a way you can do a small knowledge transfer session for this plugin, like a talk of some kind covering:
- core null-ls functionality, and why this functionality is prone to breakage because of how neovim api exposes certain stuff. You don't have to give all the details, an example of here's 'x' in null-ls and it depends on 'y' in neovim and any change in the schema for 'y' will break 'x'
- how all the 300 languages work and plug together. Is it possible to get a list of features common between the languages and somehow make it available and move the languages to its own separate repo (maybe within null-ls)
ps: I do not understand a lot of stuff in neovim and null-ls but I am willing to slowly take the responsibility and maintain if I can get some help 🥺
I am sorry for being selfish and asking more from you 😞 i was thinking if I can maintain the core functionality of this plugin and let interested people take over the supported languages which is over 300.
I use neovim at my work too and I can't go back to any other ide, I am learning to configure vscode-nvim but it's pretty okayish and no telescope support afaik. So please let me know if a knowledge transfer session is possible or if I can collaborate with you to do a wiki page. Again I don't know if thank you is enough for what you have made and also made it available for free 🥺

Thanks. This plugin is incredible.

I wonder which IDE are you using now?
from null-ls.nvim.
Almost any change to existing LSP-related code has a non-zero chance of breaking null-ls ... unless core maintainers decide to open up APIs for code actions and formatting, similar to what was done for diagnostics in 0.6
@jose-elias-alvarez Does neovim/neovim#24338 address that? Anything else specifically needed (links to issues)?

Thank you for all your work!!

Thanks a lot for this awesome plugin and the time you've put into this :)
Wondering now if someone or a group of people is going to fork it and take over the development. I personally don't know any better alternatives for null-ls for some non LSP stuff, like black
for python, etc
from null-ls.nvim.
Have fun with vscode!
Maybe he has actually chosen emacs universe 😁

Thank you for the time putting on this project and your contribution to the neovim community for making a almost "de facto" standard neovim plugin in many distributions. With 3.4k stars, this project is definitely a huge success.
And Wish the best luck for you.

Thanks for the great work. It is really a really great contribution to the neovim ecosystem already! Hope you are having enough fun with your new editor as well!
from null-ls.nvim.
Hey, you've built one of those major plugins that I'm sure is present in a good percentage (a majority?) of nvim users config (including mine). So thanks you for your incredible work! :)
Wish you the best for your next editor journey, hopefully a bit more "relax" xD
from null-ls.nvim.
@jose-elias-alvarez, I am immensely grateful for the hundreds, it not thousands, of hours you have put in. Your work has helped the community to learn and develop LSP features, enabling us to compete with those big IDEs.

godspeed, thank you for the work and the detailed explanation of the problem. having to deal with both underlying upstream breaking changes in nvim and downstream deps, this does seem like a very large mountain to climb, and as you mentioned, probably unsustainably so
