That's a good point, and it should be documented. The problem is that Stylus' @import foo.css just compiles to the CSS @import foo.css, and the only realistic way to accomodate that is to serve CSS files directly (as earlier iterations of connect-assets did). But I'd rather not have that as the default, for a variety of reasons. Instead, you have two options available:

  1. Rename your .css files to .styl so that your @imports do concatenation. (Recommended)

  2. Use connect-file-cache or another module to serve your CSS files directly, e.g.:

    app.use require('connect-assets')(src: 'assets')
    app.use require('connect-file-cache')(src: 'assets')

from connect-assets.
