If I understand the issue, this is happening because the 2nd click happens on the backdrop which by default closes the modal. Bootstrap's default modals also suffer from this. You'll notice that the 'Static Background' on the demo page example does not have this problem.

Ok. Now I understand the problem also.

And don't have any perfect solution. The closest one is putting a timeout of 600ms, but that solution is far away of being clean.

The only thing I can think of is wait until the background transitions before binding the click handler. This however wouldn't solve the issue if transitions aren't being used so I'm not sure if it's worth it.
