Using Flatware as a proxy has resolved the issue for my app.

(By the way, your site appears to be working fine for me at the moment in Firefox, and no reported issues in Firebug.)

I think you are correct.

I have been using it with a WordPress site. So far so good (http:riversideclubchampionship.org/leaderboard) except for a few FireFox issues.

Not to find out how to solve a non rails site...

Yeah, this is a known issue thanks to a Google bug that isn't getting fixed any time soon. I added a solution to the readme you might want to check out: https://github.com/jsoma/tabletop#okay-wait-weve-got-a-big-problem-but-a-solution-too

I'll leave this issue open since I'm sure plenty of other people will stumble on it!

It looks like CORS access is still available if the withCredentials is false, since that shouldn't send any cookies. Could Tabletop fall back on cross-domain in browsers that support it? That way, at least IE8+, Firefox, and Chrome would work again.

If this sounds reasonable, I'll try it out and file a pull request.

I've updated the README with info from #37, fingers crossed CORS has solved the whole Google issue for most folks.
