Barring such discovery of the aforementioned magical technology, finding disparities between the market and reality through utilizing data analysis, statistical techniques, and machine learning to exploit market pricing inefficiencies and accurately predicting the results of sporting events is a potential method of generating profits in the unpredictable world of sports. Over the course of the semester, we hope to find a system of betting that would generate positive returns for bets made on National Football League (NFL) and National Basketball Association (NBA) games.
