hi, yeah I agree the current phrasing is a bit misleading, as @whyboris noted, they key point is that you don't need to compile any native code in most cases (with the exception of rare OS/NodeJS combinations which don't have pre-built binaries)

I'm open to rewording the strapline, any suggestions?

Seems to have worked on Windows 10 without needing anything extra besides npm install pdf-to-img 🤔

I had to look it up 😅 native dependency is any dependency that requires compilation of C++/C.

It looks like this repository uses canvas as a dependency but canvas works thus:

By default, binaries for macOS, Linux and Windows will be downloaded

So no compilation needs to take place on your system 🚀
