s3direct's Issues

Reverse the default acl?

The default acl is currently 'public-read'. From a security perspective, it seems like 'authenticated-read' would be a better default, since it's generally better to whitelist than blacklist.

We'd obviously need to do a version bump if we make that change because it's very breaking on use.

A less intrusive option if we want to keep it as the default is to cover it in the readme to prevent gotchas.

mime types

I think assets are octent/binary on s3 by default. Browsers are smart enough to tolerate this when rendering, if you try to 'open an image' though it'll download instead of display.

Don't know of any rendering bugs in production now but, maybe some browsers could have issues at some point.

Generalize the JS some more

Right now the included JS is a view class with quite a few assumptions. It should be a more general API on top of the jquery-fileupload plugin.
