I tried to install KeeFox plugin 1.6.1b1 in Firefox 47.0 on OS X 10.11, but it doesn't want to install. Any ideas how to fix this?

Step 1 should no longer be required since the move from ICE to KeePassRPC.
Step 3 should probably be considered optional and something to add at a later date; in the mean time, a page with manual setup instructions could be produced in place of the Windows automatic setup system.
So the main tasks remaining are preference storage changes, code review, removal of some setup features and testing.
If anyone thinks they can take on these tasks then please let me know, otherwise I'll probably still wait until after version 1.0 to work on this, albeit with higher confidence of it being possible eventually!
PS: In case you didn't notice, this task is probably 99% the same as the task to get KeeFox working on Linux

Thanks to krbvroc1 there is now a version of KeeFox for Linux. Nobody has installed KeeFox on a Mac but there is good reason to think that it may also work on OSX so please try it out and report how your tests go.
Note that you will need to use KeePass version "2.18 with Mono fixes" rather than the standard version of 2.18: http://keepass.info/news/n120116_2.18_mono.html

There are now around 20 people regularly using KeeFox on Mac so I intend to move Mac support from beta to the main release channel when KeeFox 1.1 is released.
Please let me know if there are any regressions or serious problems with the new beta of KeeFox 1.1.

Mono on Mac just doesn't seem quite reliable enough at the moment for me to take Mac support out of Beta testing but I intend to keep it enabled for all beta versions of KeeFox from now on. So it should work for you but you will have to use the development channel version of KeeFox and you may need a little more technical nous than I would like.

Let's review the state of Mono and KeePass on Mac when testing KeeFox 1.4 / Firefox 25
from keefox.
I just purchased a Mac recently, so I can help support KeeFox on Mac.
State of Mono on Mac: Should be well supported since Xamarin is targeting Mac developers
State of KeePass on Mac: Tolerable. Most issues come from the System.Windows.Forms implementation. It crashes and sometimes and some things don't work as expected, but I have been using it on Mac for over a month now without any major issues. KeeFox seems to work just fine. In fact, I use KeeFox exclusively to start KeePass because I have not taken the time to figure out how to create a shortcut to start KeePass.

How's the latest versions of KeePass, KeeFox and Mono looking on your Mac?
Maybe it's worth removing the beta flag for the 1.3 release (not before the new year).

It seems a long time without update on this matter. Is there anything I can do as a Mac user, please let me know.
from keefox.
You can install the beta version on Mac using the "Development Channel" version at the very bottom of the Mozilla addons page.
I haven't had any Mac related problems with KeeFox for as long as I have had a Mac.
