Because I’m using MacOS's native paragraph style properties to control truncation you don't need this plugin installed to render the truncation. You just need one of your team members to set things up with your Symbols & Text Styles and everyone gets the benifit!

• Un-zip
• Double-click on truncat.sketchplugin

truncat's Issues

Truncating text reduces the character spacing

Whenever I truncate text with the plugin, it always reduces the character spacing. The setting for character spacing remains unchanged, though.

Trunctiation works differnetly

Hey great tool!
But I noticed a typo ;)

A distance is set both before and after the ellipsis points in sentences. Exception: The dots indicate that part of the word is omitted: "You A…!"

Feature request : truncate based on the text box size

Do you know what would make this plugin awesome? if you can able to truncate or put three dots in the end whenever a text box has defined the width or height and text contents exceed that size.

Menu States not showing in recent Sketch versions

I don't know in which Sketch version this issue started, but recent Sketch versions don't show the menu states anymore.

Here's an example of a text truncated at head.

Use of the ellipses character instead of 3 dots

Hiya,

This is more of a feature request than anything else:

From a typography standpoint, it'd be nice if the truncation would consist of a horizontal ellipses (…) character instead of three dots (...).

After uninstalling plugin default text boxes have tail truncation on them and no way of removing it.

Hi I was playing around with your plugin decided it wasn't really for me (the main reason was that it truncates text to a single line) and I uninstalled it from sketch via the plugin manager.

After opening a new file all my text boxes now default to being tail truncated and without the plugin I have no way of removing it.

After restarting completely, trying new files, uninstalling/reinstalling truncat there's no way for me to stop it from defaulting to tail truncation with or without your plugin.

Somehow even with your plugin removed it still keeps the truncation rendering.

This really needs to be fixed 😬
