Yeah, use whatever works best for you.
Making a blocking request on the main thread is a terrible idea, they should always be made in background threads.

Just to elaborate a little further, yes, this library is and was intended to be synchronous, it is just a simple wrapper over HttpUrlConnection which is itself synchronous.
