  • I am a full-stack software developer 💻 currently strengthening my skills at Microverse, an online school that trains people globally (and full-time) to become world class remote software developers. It is a very selective program, since the admission rate is less than 1% of applications.

  • As a member of @osscameroon, I'm interested in contributing to open source. 😏

  • I'm interested in data science and machine learning, and I'd like to dig deeper in those fields at some point in my career.

  • I love thinking and solving problems with code. I train on Codewars. Here is my badge: Codewars badge (large)
The badge is updated in real time, so check back often to see how I am progressing.

  • I have a Master's degree 📄 in Computer Science, but does it really matter? 😏

  • I am a JavaScript enthusiast 🤩 and I would like to stick to this language as much as possible, even if I write code in other languages from time to time (Java mainly, and soon Ruby ♦️).

  • I love the idea of writing code that helps change the world 🌍 in a meaningful way. That's why I opted for global opportunities 🌐. I am currently taking the training offered by which will help me reach my goal: Getting a good remote software developer job by April 2022. 🤩 🤩

Talking about personal Stuff:

  • When I'm not coding or learning, I'm most probably playing French Scrabble 🧠 (I made my way into the top 1% of the world ranking 🔝 in just 3 years of competition). I watch comedies and dramas from time to time.
  • I spend most of my free time with my family 👨‍👨‍👧‍👦. My loved ones are very special to me. ♥️
  • I love to travel and would like to be a digital nomad for a while in the near future.

King Josaphat Chewa's Projects

awesome-books icon awesome-books

"Awesome books" is a simple website that displays a list of books and allows you to add and remove books from that list. By building this application through pair-programming, [Sohaib](https://github.com/sohaibya) and I strengthened our knowledge how to manage data using JavaScript. We used a medium-fidelity wireframe to build the UI.

capstone2-countries-facts icon capstone2-countries-facts

This is the repo for the second capstone project in our Microverse journey. It is a group project created by @Fikerte-T and I. We build it around a countries API.

gaddag.js icon gaddag.js

A package for constructing a GADDAG, a specialized version of a DAWG commonly used in Scrabble-like wordfinding scenarios

hello-microverse icon hello-microverse

This project was the first one in my Microverse journey that needed a code review. I had to set up a "Hello world" repository. Nothing really complicated. The goal was to put combine all the tools and best practices I just learned into a repo: Github Flow rules, Linter, Documenting my repo professionally, adding a .gitignore file...

jest-playground icon jest-playground

Basic tests to get familiar with the [Jest testing framework](https://jestjs.io/docs/getting-started).

jest-testing-practice icon jest-testing-practice

This repo is about writing a few practical tests for JavaScript functions using the Jest library. I made sure I follow the AAA pattern to make those tests easier for other developers to read and understand. I also tried to use the TDD (Test-Driven Development) approach in practice.

mariage-ivan-sandra icon mariage-ivan-sandra
