Hi @nmalcom
You have a slight misconception here.
Once you're in the controller, server refers to the express app, not the kraken app.

If you take a look at the Custom Middleware Example, you'll see that the requestStart, requestBeforeRoute and requestAfterRoute hooks are being called from the application entry point. ./index.js not the controller ./controllers/index.js.

If you really, really want to do it there, you would simply have to do:

server.use(...)
