0.40 and 0.40-rc are the same code, 0.40 is released is all. I will go back and find out what introduced the error asap.

Very busy today, should get a chance over the weekend.

It's worth mentioning at this point that members of threaded objects are public, I have not implemented the scope check in these handlers to offset the overhead of operations on the objects themselves. I see that it's just a normal object, but thought it's worth mentioning here.

You are right, this code works on 0.39-rc :) ...

Before the fix my tests was failing with the same message, so I think I isolated what was happening, my tests are now passing, so closing the bug, feel free to open a new bug if you find anything else.
