Using the latest code on master, I was able to upload a package to an EU bucket without specifying the endpoint and it worked end to end, including showing up in the S3 console.
Could you retest on master and let me know? Also, might be good to know which version of deb-s3 you're using... I could do a git bisect and review the changes since then to verify it some more.

@gudmundur You may need need a newer aws-sdk gem - try bundle update ?
