Error from server (NotFound): services "kubernetes-dashboard-nginx-controller" not found about dashboard

Not enough details about the installation. We need to know the exact steps and commands you used. Additionally, it would be good to get output of kubectl -n kubernetes-dashboard get svc and kubectl -n kubernetes-dashboard get all commands.

Ok, I got it working after: kubectl -n kubernetes-dashboard port-forward svc/kubernetes-dashboard 8443:443 changing the name of the service: from kubernetes-dashboard-nginx-controller to kubernetes-dashboard. This should be fixed in the documentation.

Documentation is actually correct. I have rechecked it and service name was correct. There must be something different in your environment that impacts service name.

Ok, I got it working after: kubectl -n kubernetes-dashboard port-forward svc/kubernetes-dashboard 8443:443 changing the name of the service: from kubernetes-dashboard-nginx-controller to kubernetes-dashboard. This should be fixed in the documentation.

I just ran into the same problem and the kubernetes-dashboard service name was also what I needed to use; kubernetes-dashboard-nginx-controller from this page https://github.com/kubernetes/dashboard/blob/master/docs/user/accessing-dashboard/README.md#kubectl-port-forward did not work. Perhaps the discrepancy is because I installed from Helm?
