[bug] StorageError: invalid object about kubernetes

Hey, I can repro this in my test environment.

We use controller-time/testenv for our test setup. We use a custom rate limiter with a constant delay. When the delay is below 20ms, I can reliably reproduce the issue when updating custom resource. Bumping up the delay time fixed the issue for me.

When this happens, the custom resource appears to be gone, even though I didn't explicitly delete it.
