First, let me get the big part out of the way: this is going to be online. Travel is still too unreliable for us to hold an event in person ... and half the attendees of the last Summit said they could only come to an in-person summit if it was near them.
So, dates: last year's summit was in February. That's still probably a good time; Mid-late February doesn't conflict with a lot of other events. Any other reasons to pick particular dates?

Regarding dates, there are three other important conferences taking place in February:
- FOSDEM * February 5th to 6th
- USENIX Conference on File and Storage Technologies (FAST) * February 22-24
- Mobile World Congress (MWC) * February 28th to March 3rd
Therefore, we should avoid these dates...
Travel is still limited because of the pandemic, so participation will be limited to face-to-face events. I would also vote to have an online event.
By the way, who is responsible for organizing the conference? I would like to volunteer to help.
